Puerto Rico Propane Company is a Puerto Rican LPG Distributor founded by Nelson Meléndez in April 1991 in the municipality of Morovís, Puerto Rico. This family owned company was originally established to distribute LPG to a small group of commercial and domestic customers. Puerto Rico currently supplies gas to 15,000 clients throughout the island.
Puerto Rico Propane has two subsidiary company, one registered under the name of Puerto Rico Propane Alternative Fuel. The sole purpose of this company is to provide alternative fuel methods to the consumer. The company specializes in alternative fuel methods which use propane gas as it main energy source and include but are not limited to boiler retrofits for propane supply, gas turbines for electrical generation, waste heat generators for generation of electricity, gas fired, water fired air handling units and propane conversion systems for diesel fuel trucks and cars.
